Michael Johnson’s primary practice areas include construction litigation, surety litigation, commercial industry contracts and litigation, and insurance litigation. Michael also has experience in labor and employment related issues, including non-compete, non-solicitation, and other employment contract issues, claims under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act (LWCA), Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (Longshore Act), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
At Tulane law school, Michael achieved First Place for the Appellate Brief and was the Oral Argument semifinalist for the International Criminal Court Moot Competition. Michael was the Tulane Sports Law Research Assistant and served as a Student Attorney for the Environmental Law Clinic. Michael also clerked for the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s office, and assisted local businesses in litigation related to the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
Michael volunteers as the assistant tennis coach for Tulane University women’s varsity tennis team, and enjoys coaching and mentoring junior tennis players in New Orleans, competing in tennis tournaments, and Orangetheory.
