Shelby S. Talley
Attorney
Shelby practices civil litigation with a concentration in the areas of personal injury, homeowner property damage claims, construction, and property occupancy disputes. Shelby received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University and attended law school at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
Growing up in a military family, Shelby has implemented her family motto into the practice of law - “improvise, adapt, and overcome.” This motto is the driving force behind planning the success of a case from start to finish. Outside of the office, Shelby enjoys spending time with her two sons and husband.
NOTABLE REPRESENTATION
In re: 3M Combat Arms Earplug Products Liability Litigation, 19-2885 (N.D. Fla. 2022). Co-Lead Attorney. Successfully proved that all clients, U.S. service members and veterans, were entitled to recovery for hearing loss based upon 3M’s defective ear plugs.
Bracamontes v. Geovera Specialty Insurance Company, USDC EDLA No. 2:23-cv-01593. Co-Lead Attorney. Successfully settled Hurricane Ida property damage claim for six-figures under breach of contract, and Louisiana Bad-Faith Statutes, L.A. RS 22:1973/22:1892.
Darky Sky Restoration v. Donna Bottley. Co-Lead Attorney. Recovered full invoice and awarded sanctions on behalf of restoration contractor.
Gulfway Terrace, L.P., d/b/a Chateau D’Orleans v. Pearl Schexnayder, First City Court, No. 2024-05558. Lead Attorney. Successfully obtained Rule for Possession after trial on the merits.
Slocum v. International Paper Company, USDC EDLA No. 2:16-cv-12563, c/w 16-12567, 16-13793. Attorney and Law Clerk. Successfully proved all class members may recover damages based under theories of negligence, nuisance and premises liability as a result of a discharge of Black Liquor from the International Paper Mill in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
